For a brand which seeks to evoke the intrinsic aromas found in grape varieties, producing a sulphur-free wine seemed like an obvious choice. This style of winemaking returns to the basics and reveals brilliant, fresh fruit aromas and flavours. The result is a very special, a clear-cut cuvée, cherished by our winemaking team.
The vintage
2020 was marked by very mild temperatures and contrasting precipitation: heavy spring rainfall was followed by an intense summer drought. The fairly mild winter led to early bud break. The summer heat gave way to cool nights in late August, ideal for ripening grapes.

Tasting
Attractive cherry red colour, with some darker reflections, close to garnet.
The nose gives off delicious notes of fresh fruit such as cherry, raspberry, but also morello cherry and blackcurrant, combined with a hint of spice.
Starts out smooth on the palate, with very fresh, juicy fruit flavours (cherry, raspberry...). The attractive finish is underpinned by notes of Morello cherry. The eternal optimist, best served chilled.

"First impression is of the softly caressing tannins on this wine, far more so than you might expect for a pure Cabernet Sauvignon. Upfront blackberry fruits, nothing too intense or concentrated but with real punch and lift. This is highly successful, easy drinking, one to recommend. No added sulphur. Interesting by the way that the vintage appears on the back label, not on the front.
