Château Tour de Bonnet Grande Cuvée Red 2019

Presentation

Presentation
Château Tour de Bonnet exists in white, rosé and red versions. This wine was created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the construction of a belvedere by André Lurton's grandfather, Léonce Récapet. Aged with special care and attention partly in new oak barrels, a new prestige cuvée, Château Tour de Bonnet Grande Cuvée, now adds to the estate's range. It will delight people who love rich, powerful wines. It has a bouquet of ripe fruit with hints of vanilla and is smooth and perfectly balanced on the palate!
The vintage
2019 was marked by the virtual absence of cold weather in the winter, resulting in earlier bud-
break dates in the vineyards. Spring rainfall was scant. A spell of severe drought made itself felt at
the start of the summer. The rains in August saved the vines.

Tasting
A deep ruby-red colour.
The nose is intensely aromatic, with scents of black fruits such as blackberry and blackcurrant, enriched by delicate hints of chocolate.
The attack is supple. The palate is wonderfully round and pleasantly fresh. The delicious aromas of black fruits persist throughout the palate, giving this wine a harmonious balance and great drinkability. The finish has an elegant, well-integrated tannic structure.
Food pairings
Mushroom soup, potatoes with smoked bacon, ham on the spit, grilled prime rib.

Reviews

90/100
"This is earthy and spicy on the nose with ripe dark berries, chocolate, licorice and hints of nutshells. Medium- to full-bodied, firm and nicely framed with dusty tannins. Structured, with a juicy, linear finish. Merlot and cabernet sauvignon. Drink or hold."
